The Grill at The Dorchester was in need of a rebrand before relaunching the 88 year old restaurant into a more approachable and warm dining experience under the fresh energy of their new head chef, Tom Booton. As the youngest head chef to ever lead a luxury London hotel restaurant space into a new direction, my team was tasked with creating a sophisticated yet modern identity of a classic British establishment.
Inspired by the London plane tree found all across Hyde Park, The Dorchester Collection was keen on preserving its hotel's historical roots within a fresh and energetic visual identity. This idea informed the organic, tree bark pattern used in harmony with a strong geometric logomark and punchy color palette. This balance of old and new spoke to the historical relevance and exciting changes happening at The Grill.
